​Seven year old Carol and her family face the challenges of not knowing the language, customs, or culture as refugees in a foreign country.  She decides to embark on a difficult journey:  to pass a required swimming test so she can go on the water slide and be like the other kids. A short film about perseverance and family.

A political yet intimate drama about a Muslim woman dealing with life on different levels after she loses her husband, a police officer, in a terror attack in Mumbai. As the events unfurl over the course of a day, Aabida finds her present life free of the influence of her chauvinist husband while she recalls her past through a press interview with journalists. But will society ever allow her this sense of freedom?

Breast cancer surgery saves lives. But it also leaves physical and psychological scars. The women in this film transform their scars from surgery, which they proudly see as their battle scars, into something wonderful and unique when they adorn their chests with tattoos. In the process they celebrate surviving a painful journey and being alive.

AMAKA’S KIN: The Women of Nollywood

Amaka’s Kin explores the challenges and successes of female directors in the current and overwhelmingly male Nigerian film industry known as Nollywood. It is dedicated to the memory of the late Nigerian amazon filmmaker Amaka Igwe (1963-2014) who was pivotal in inspiring and encouraging these women to make movies.  It also reveals how  these women are helping the next generation of filmmakers.
